    Post Description
    Pay Scale 1. PAY SCALE Rs.9,300-34,800/- ( PB-2) plus Rs. 4,600/- (Grade Pay) (Total emoluments excluding T.A. HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs. 29,481/-p.m. approximately)

    Age Not exceeding 30 years as on normal closing date. Not exceeding 35 years for Scheduled Castes candidates as on normal closing date in respect of vacancies reserved for them. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central / UT Govt. servants upto five years as per the instructions issued by the Govt. of India from time to time.     Essential Qualificaiton (s) Essential
    A EDUCATIONAL Master’s Degree in Chemistry / Forensic Science with Chemistry as one of the subjects at Bachelor of Science level from a recognized university or equivalent.

    The qualification of Associate of Institution of Chemistry (AIC), Kolkata only is treated as equivalent to M. Sc. (Chemistry).

    B EXPERIENCE Two years experience of Analytical methods and research in the field of Explosives.

    NOTE-I The qualifications are relaxable at Commission’s discretion in case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
    NOTE-II The qualification(s) regarding experience is relaxable at the discretion of UPSC in case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes ,if any, stage of selection, the UPSC is of the opinion that sufficient numbers of candidates from these communities possessing the requisite experience are not likely to be available to fill up the posts reserved for them.

    Desirable Qualificaiton (s)

    Duty(ies) Crime Scene Management, Crime Case Examination, giving evidences in the Courts of Law under Section 293 of Cr.PC, providing guidance to the junior scientific staff for case analysis, RD activities on Forensic Activities and imparting training in their respective field of forensic specialization to the trainees from different investigating agencies / forensic science labs and other organizations.

    Probation TWO YEARS

    Head Quarter DELHI.

    Other Details General Central Service, Group ‘’B’, Gazetted, Non-Ministerial. The posts are permanent.

    Any Other Conditions In connection with performing their duties the officer may be
    required to serve in HYDERABAD / KOLKATA / CHANDIGARH / BHOPAL/ PUNE / GUWAHATI besides any part of India
