Post Description
Pay Scale PB- 3 Rs. 15600-39100 with AGP of Rs.6000/- (Total emoluments excluding T.A./D.A., and HRA at the time of initial appointment will be Rs. /- p.m. approximately)
Age Not exceeding 35 years as on normal closing date. Relaxable for regularly appointed Central/U.T. Government servants upto five years as per instructions /orders issued by Government of India from time to time. For age concession applicable to some other categories of applicants, please see relevant paras of the ‘Instructions and Additional Information to Candidates for Recruitment by Selection.’
Essential Qualificaiton (s) (i) Good Academic record as defined by the concerned University with atleast 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the master degree level in Chemistry from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
(ii) Passed the National Eligibility Test conducted by the UGC, CSIR or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.
(iii) Notwithstanding anything contained in (i) and (ii) above, the candidates, who are, or have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. degree) Regulation, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities/ Colleges/ Institutions.
(iv) NET/SLET/SET shall also not be required for such masters programme in disciplines for which NET/SLET/SET is not conducted.
Note 1- Ph.D. shall be from a recognized University.
Note 2- Qualifications are relaxable at the discretion of the UPSC, or reasons to be recorded in writing, in the case of candidates otherwise well qualified.
Desirable Qualificaiton (s)
Duty(ies) To teach Post Graduate Under Graduate students in the concerned subject(s), lead guide and promote research programmes/scholars examination work of the concerned University, planning and development of Chemistry labs curricula, governance and development of the Department/Institute, preparing proposals for funding in the areas of RD work, any other duty assigned by the head of Institution/higher authorities.
