Requirement of Junior Research Fellow
Applications are invited for the post of JRF for the project entitled “Quantification of trace
metals and its counter parts as an interlocking system for revealing sediment/water/air status in
the southern tip of perninsular India” as part of the Monitoring and Modelling of Marine
Ecosystem (MMME) under the Marine Living Resources Program (MLRP) of Ministry of Earth
Sciences (MoES).

Duration of the project: 5 years. Initial appointment for one year and can be extended till the
completion of the project.
Eligibility criteria
Qualifications: Candidate should have Master Degree with minimum of 60 % marks in one of
the following subjects: Chemistry, Hydrochemistry and Oceanography.
Desirable Qualifications: Minimum one year research experience in Aquatic Chemistry or
related subjects both in the field as well as laboratory.
Job Requirement: Participation in oceanographic expeditions for collection of samples.
Onboard processing and measurements and the inturn geochemical analyses in the laboratory.
Candidates should be prepared to participate in oceanographic cruises for ~2-3 months per year.
Fellowship: 16000 + 20% HRA (according to the UGC rules)
