* SC [A] denotes “Scheduled Caste” - Arunthathiar. If suitable and qualified candidates of Arunthathiar community are not available for selection and appointment in the turn allotted to them, the turn so allotted shall go to other SC candidates within that category on merit basis as per G.O. (Ms) No.61 Adi Dravidar and Tribal welfare (TD2) Department dated, 29.05.2009
1. SCALE OF PAY : As per UGC Norms.
2. QUALIFICATIONS : As per UGC Norms.
A) GENERAL
(a) Having a Post Graduate degree with a minimum of 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) and NET/SET/SLET shall remain as essential qualification for the post of Assistant Professor. Candidates with Ph.D. degree in the relevant subject are exempted from NET/SET/SLET qualification.
(b) A relaxation of 5% will be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks, at the Masters level to the candidates belonging to SC/ST categories, Differently abled and Visually Challenged persons.
(c) A relaxation of 5% will be provided from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. degree holders who have passed their Masters degree prior to 19th September 1991.
(d) No application fee for the SC/ST and Differently abled candidates on production of attested photocopy of the Community Certificate / Physical Disability Certificate from the competent authority.
(e) For the post of Professors and Associate Professors, along with the application, the candidates shall submit the filled in API Scores Sheet as prescribed by the UGC.
Note:
(a) The University reserves the right to fill or not to fill the post. (b) The University reserves the right to shortlist the candidates.
(c) Application (eight copies) should be made only in the format prescribed by the University.
(d) Applications received after the last date will be summarily rejected.
(e) Enquiries on the above subject will not be entertained.
(f) Candidates called for interview will not be paid any TA/DA.
(g) Candidates in service should send their applications through proper channel.
(h) Since the selection of candidates is based purely on merit, attempts to canvass or bring influence on the authorities to show favour during selection will be deemed as disqualification and the application of such candidates will be rejected.
DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY
1. Assistant Professor
Essential qualifications: As per UGC Norms
(i) M.Sc. degree in Chemistry / Organic Chemistry with 55% of Marks (or an equivalent grade)
(ii) NET / SLET / SET qualification in the concerned subject (or) Ph.D. degree in Chemistry / Organic Chemistry.
Note: Preference will be given to candidates with M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry or Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry.
2. Associate Professor
Essential qualifications:
As per UGC Norms M.Sc. degree with 55% marks in Chemistry / Organic Chemistry with Ph.D. Chemistry / Organic Chemistry and 8 years of teaching / research experience. A minimum of 5 publications as books and / or research papers.
Note: Preference will be given to candidates with Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry.
