The Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Deemed University, is the national Institute in International Business Education and Research. Established in 1963, as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, it has contributed in the skill building for the external trade sector of India. The contributions of the Institute have earned it the status of “Deemed University” in the year 2002. Over the years, IIFT has emerged as the national university with focus on International Business Management and Strategy, and such focus is reflected in all three major activities of the Institute: Research, Training and Education.
Application is invited from post-graduate degree holders to work as Research Associate at Kolkata with the Editorial Board of the journal “Foreign Trade Review” published by IIFT.
Job Profile: To assist the Managing Editor and Associate Editors in editorial work for the journal in activities like copy-editing, communicating with contributors and reviewers, and other activities related to the journal.
Essential qualification: MA/M.Sc. (only the degrees awarded on the closing date will be considered) in any subject from a recognized university in India or from reputed universities of any other country.
Selection Criteria: Selection will be on the basis of personal interview and the ability of candidates to carry out copy editing work and on communication and write in English.

Salary & Terms etc.: The position is purely on contractual basis for a period of one year which may be continued purely on the sole discretion of the Institute subject to satisfactory performance of the candidate. The post carries all inclusive monthly remuneration of Rs.23,000/- without any other benefit.
Leave entitlement: Apart from the declared holidays of the Institute, all contractual employees in the Institute are entitled for 04 days of CL and 15 days of EL for working each completed period of 06 months. Encashment of EL is not permitted.
Contractual employment in the Institute can be terminated by giving one months notice or pay in lieu of such notice from either side. By virtue of working as a contractual employee in the Institute, they are not entitled to claim a regular post in the Institute.
Note: The position is open to candidates both to fresher and experienced. However, experience in areas related to copy editing and/or formal writing in English is preferable.
